Ring 6 of Eleven · The Natural Time Warp Wheel
A small witnessed moment, fixed precisely for the many who came after.
Fátima is the site of the 1917 Marian apparitions reported by three shepherd children, now one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in the Catholic world. It is retained as a point control precisely because its coordinates are unusually well fixed by the basilica itself.
Three children saw something in a field, and nothing about the moment required anyone else to believe it before it was real to them. What makes this a point control rather than a broad field has nothing to do with the vision's scale and everything to do with the basilica later built to mark exactly where it happened — a single fixed spot, because a great many more people eventually needed somewhere to stand.
