Area VIII of Twelve · The Artificial Time Warp Wheel
Bluegrass country to the Cumberland uplands, a river corridor through autumn forest.
The second of Book I’s corridor Areas runs from Lexington-Fayette, at the heart of Kentucky’s bluegrass country, south into Tennessee’s Cumberland uplands — limestone karst, winding rivers, and hardwood forest that turns deep red and gold each autumn. Tennessee has no single official geographic-centre monument, so Murfreesboro, the U.S. Census Bureau’s stated proxy for the state’s centre, stands in as the southern control.
The circle assigned to this Area shows exactly that: a river winding through autumn-coloured forest, a landscape type rather than a specific bend of the Kentucky or Cumberland River.
