Hawaiian Islands — detail from the Artificial Time Warp Wheel, circle 5

Area Five is the only one of the eleven outer Areas that overlaps, in Book I’s own register, with both a Sun Disc Satellite and an Ascension Gate: Satellite I and the Base/Root Gate both land in Hawai‘i, near the summit of Mauna Kea. Its fuller unveiling — Mauna a Wākea, Lake Waiāu, the piko tradition — is told on those pages rather than repeated here.

As a Time Warp Area, the control used is not the summit itself but Hawaii’s official geographic centre, off Maui, with the archipelago’s own named-feature point tested alongside it as a sensitivity check. The two independent controls return closely matching results, which Book I treats as a stronger registration than either alone.

Registration & Source Area Five’s primary control is the state’s official geographic centre; a secondary named-archipelago point is tested for sensitivity. The primary control’s eastward longitude test from Giza returns a residual of one arcminute, at a WGS84 distance of 8,941 miles (14,389 km), bearing 9.01°. Full working: Book I, Chapter 27.

This Area is one of the Twelve registered in Planetary Time Warp Architecture, Book I, Part Seven. See The Artificial Time Warp Wheel for the full identification table.
