Wheel Four of Thesis Ten · The Thread of each Module
Twelve bonds between a child and those who receive, accompany and protect them.
Wheel 4 of 4 · from Thesis 10 — Education for the New Age of Aquarius.
Nine Laws, twelve Reflectors, twelve Awakenings and twelve Threads: within every Module, the Reflector is the light, the Awakening is the seed, the Thread is the bond and the Law is the lens.
The twelve Threads of Guardianship are the bond of the twelve Modules: the qualities of relationship between the child and the parents, guardians and protectors who receive, guide and release them. A single thread runs through the Wheel. It is spun before conception, holds and strengthens through childhood, is sometimes mended, and at last lengthens without breaking, so that the young person walks free while the bond remains. The hub of the Wheel is The Bond That Frees.
1 · Reverent Reception — Receiving the Child as a Soul
The child is received as a soul entrusted for a time, not as a possession. “Human parents are only the vehicles of creation through which the SOURCE of BEING works.” (Christ Articles, “Is There Really A God?”, received by the Recorder)
2 · Guardian, Not Owner — Guardianship Without Ownership
Those who care for a child guard the mystery of who the child is without claiming it. As the Covenant of Reception says, “To hold is not to own.” (Memra 26, Posit III; Generative Guardianship, Memra 14)
3 · Father and Mother — The Balance of Father and Mother
A child needs both of the qualities long called father and mother: the activity that sets the goals, and the love that shows the way. Every parent and guardian, whether alone or in partnership, may carry both qualities in balance, and so may a grandmother, a foster father, an aunt or an older brother or sister. (Masculine and Feminine Totality)
4 · Presence First — Presence Before Instruction
The young child needs the adult’s presence before the adult’s instruction. Too often the child is “kept quiet and out of the way because his parents are too busy,” and the true person is “driven within”. (Education in the New Age)
5 · Shared Wonder — Shared Wonder and Joy
Joy is learned from those who still have it. Children lose “the art of being Joyful” when “their parents have forgotten this within themselves.” (The New Children of the Earth)
6 · Living Example — The Example That Teaches
The child learns first from what is lived in front of them. Right attitudes grow “if parents and teachers demonstrate in their own lives what they teach.” (Education in the New Age)
7 · Ask the Child — Asking and Explaining
The child is asked, and the reasons for what is asked of them are explained. “Start by asking them ‘what makes you feel free’? Ask and listen and then create that space for them to be free.” (Memra 1, The God Awakening)
8 · Loving Boundaries — The Discipline of Love
Boundaries are given, but they are given in love and carefully explained. “Fear not structure, for structure is the chalice of freedom.” (Lord Michael, the Genesis Mandate, Memra 13)
9 · Repair and Forgive — Repair and Forgiveness
When the bond is strained, it is mended rather than cut, and errors are acknowledged without guilt. The young Jesus and his mother, estranged in his rebellious youth, came at last to tender understanding. (Christ Returns – Speaks His Truth)
10 · Child as Teacher — Learning From the Child
As the child becomes a young adult, the adult becomes a learner too. “When children become young adults, this is growing time for parents.” (Christ Returns – Speaks His Truth)
11 · Circle of Protectors — The Circle of Protectors
No parent need guard a child alone. Parents, teachers, doctors, nurses, elders and friends form a circle around the young, and where such a circle is not naturally present it may be consciously gathered. Within that circle, as the Master Djwhal Khul wrote, the work begun by “the trained parents” is “facilitated, as the child matures, by the … illumined educator.” (Education in the New Age)
12 · Release into Freedom — The Bond That Frees
At the threshold of adulthood the thread lengthens without breaking. “How can young people thrive if shackled to youthful bondage?” “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.” (Christ Returns – Speaks His Truth; Kahlil Gibran)
